The Republic of Moldova will benefit from additional funding of $46.3 million from the United States for sustainable economic growth. The Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration approved the consultative assessment concerning the initiation of negotiations and approval of the signing of the 13th amendment to the assistance agreement on the development objective between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the U.S. Government for sustainable economic growth anchored in the European integration, IPN reports.
The financial assistance will be provided in the form of a grant through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for the purpose of supporting sustainable economic growth in the Republic of Moldova. The additional funding will take the total non-reimbursable assistance provided under the agreement so far to about US$153.2 million.
The assistance agreement on the development objective between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the U.S. Government for sustainable economic growth anchored in the European integration was signed on September 28, 2016 in Chisinau.
