The youth movement “Urmașii lui Ștefan” (“Stephan’s Followers”), the Youth Cooperation Center and the Youth Government of the Republic of Moldova support Igor Dodon in the presidential runoff vote of November 15.

In a
news conference at IPN, the head of the youth movement “Urmașii lui Ștefan” Dumitru Roibu said the three organizations consist of young people who are not indifferent to what is going on in the country, during the campaign prior to the presidential elections. “I call on our citizens, the older ones and, especially, the young people - because they are those who will move our county on and are those who should build a future for our country, in which the people would feel comfortable, regardless of their political views and options - to respect the vote of each person, no matter who you voted for,” he stated.

According to Dumitru Roibu, the Moldovan citizens, especially those who support the politicians of the right and some of those from the diaspora, were persuaded that they vote correctly and this way they offend those who do not vote like them. Hatred is disseminated in society, under the influence of political preferences.

Dumitru Roibu also said that the young people want the future President to think how to develop and promote the country at the international and domestic levels. “This should make effort for us to have confidence in tomorrow here, at home. Regrettably, we saw that Maia Sandu, in an eventual referendum on the liquidation of the Republic of Moldova, would vote for. She is a candidate who sees the Republic of Moldova as a temporary screen that can bring her particular political and financial benefits, but is not the person who would want to live in this country, to see her future and family in this country,” asserted Dumitru Roibu.

Ion Jomir, of the Youth Government of the Republic of Moldova, reminded of Maia Sandu’s initiative to buy video cameras for supervising the taking of Baccalaureate exams when she served as minister of education. In that period, the students mobilized and mounted protests, being dissatisfied with such an initiative. Besides not being necessary and causing damage of 7 million lei to the budget, these initiatives also generated questions as to the way in which the tender contest was held. “Can the persons who commit considerable swindles be called good people?” he asked.

Octavian Rusu, one of the members of youth movement “Urmașii lui Ștefan”, noted that Maia Sandu incites hatred and not only in relation to her opponent, but also to the people. “Maia Sandu does not meet people’s expectations. She was a party to the schemes implemented at the airport, to the bank theft, to the envelopes of Shor and others. Maia Sandu does not deserve to be President. On November 15, we will vote a balanced President. We will vote Igor Dodon,” he noted.

Vladimir Railean, of the Youth Cooperation Center, called on the young people not to allow to be manipulated by Maia Sandu’s staff that generates conflicts in society, as he considers. “We want to further have a consolidated administration that would offer us a clear development prospect, not political shows. On November 15, I will vote for Igor Dodon,” he stated.
