The opposition parties state they're ready for the early elections and expect to score better results in the poll to be called this summer. The leaders of the PL, PLDM and AMN do not rule out they'll find a way to participate in the elections on a common list. The decision is to be made by every particular party, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“We count on much better results, because the people is fed with the Communist club. I think July is a convenient period, I am sure the people will get to vote. In this poverty, I don't think they'll opt for Mallorca, said Our Moldova Alliance's leader Serafim Urecheanu.
He says the list of his party can suffer “cosmetic” changes, but no major changes. When asked if Veaceslav Platon will be on the list, Urecheanu says he's been a member of the party for many years, and has the same rights as every member. Urecheanu has added he is not interested in the conflict between Oleg Voronin (the president's son) and Veaceslav Platon.
“We are ready for the early elections, the strategy is to be discussed with the party members. We remain open for a reasonable formula. We hope the results of the early elections will directly express the citizens' will. We're interested in the legitimacy of the election and the legitimacy of the newly-elected parliament,” said Vlad Filat, the leader of the Liberal Party.
Referring to Zinaida Greceanai's being designated as a prime minister, Serafim Urecheanu and Vlad Filat said it was predictable.
“Zina – poor thing! Either general mayor, either prime-minister, either president – this proves the Communists' chronic shortage of specialists,” Urecheanu said.
It makes no sense to have another cabinet for only two months, said the Liberals' leader Mihai Ghimpu.
The parliament failed to its last attempt to elect a president on June 3. The president in office is to dissolve the parliament and call early elections.
