The Cabinet approved the creation of a unit for distributing the €100 million assistance loan provided by the Government of Poland. 90% of this loan is intended for agriculture, IPN reports.
The unit will be a public, nonprofit institution managed by the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture, which was authorized to implement the part of the loan designed for agriculture. 10% of this loan, intended for industry and the related infrastructure, will be managed by the Implementation Unit of the grant provided by the Government of Japan.
The unit for distributing the loan provided by Poland will deal out the money through the agency of different financial instruments. It will also provide business consultancy and training services to the beneficiaries of loans and will implement and monitor the issuing of loans from the re-lending fund.
The financial assistance agreement was signed in Warsaw on May 14 this year, during the visit paid by a Moldovan delegation headed by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca. According to the Government’s press service, the loan is repayable in 25 years at an annual interest rate of 0.15%. The grace period is five years.
