Unemployment at the Rybnitsa Metallurgical Plant was extended until January 24 inclusive. The administration said that only service personnel come to work, IPN reports.
The measure is aimed at reducing energy consumption.
There are over 2,000 employees who do not go to work. According to local media, workers who stay at home collect two-thirds of their salary.
The Transnistrian administration previously said that the halt in gas supplies on January 1 led to the closure of industrial enterprises operating on the left bank of the Nistru, except for those producing food. Some of them, including "Elektromash", "Odema" and "Intercenterlux", work at night only.
