Unemployed persons and employers in Moldova to enjoy a unique informational system

An information system in the domain of employment is to be launched this year. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sergiu Sainciuc stated on Tuesday, January 30 during a briefing that the system is practically created and that it will be put into operation in the near future.
According to him, the system will provide about 100 information components about the situation on the labour market, including vacant work places, and about persons who are looking for a job. Thus, from any labour office in the republic, one will be able to access the information about the location of vacancies, employment conditions, and so on.
Another project in the same domain will be implemented via international cooperation. According to Sainciuc, this project is financed by the Swedish Government and provides for the creation of an informational centre, called “Job-Centre”, in Chisinau, which will be available for all persons who are looking for a job, but also for employers – in order to post information about vacant work places. At the same time, within the same project, three centres for supporting employment of persons with disabilities will be created in the republic. Sainciuc expressed hope that this kind of centres, although they haven’t existed until now in Moldova, would provide an important help to this category of persons.
The deputy minister mentioned that in the period from 2000 to 2006 the number of vacant work places provided to the National Agency of Labour Force Employment, almost doubled. For example, the last year, the Agency registered about 47,500 vacancies.
About 51,800 unemployed persons have been officially registered in 2006. The total number approaches 73,500 persons. About 32% of these persons were eventually employed.
Via those 77 labour fairs organised last year, 23% of those 11,400 persons looking for a job were hired.
