Three passengers coming from the Czech Republic were caught with an undeclared sum of over €69,000 at the Leușeni customs post. The men, aged 25, 36 and 37, were each carrying amounts of more than €20,000 and didn’t declare them to the authorities, IPN reports.
The case is investigated by the Customs Service, together with PCCOCS prosecutors, who suspect that the three acted in a coordinated way, according to a criminal scheme. Seven searches were carried out in Chisinau and outside the capital city in order to accumulate additional evidence.
According to prosecutors, the money collected by the customs officers was seized as evidence in the case, and the investigation continues to identify all the people involved.
