A mansard built without authorization atop a Chisinau apartment block burned down. Liliana Pușcașu, spokesperson for the Emergencies Inspectorate, told IPN no one was hurt in the fire.
Located at 13/1 Pajurii Street in Rascani district, the 20 sq.m. construction was built without authorization atop a five-storied block. Eight crews of firefighters and rescuers were deployed to the scene.
The fire was contained, with the crews still working to establish the causes.
In 2014, a devastating fire caused by a short circuit consumed 28 apartments in a mansard floor of a building in Botanica.
