Ultimatum issuing is not the best way of getting rid of the corrupt government, said experts invited to the talk show “Politics” produced by TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

Political analyst Oazu Nantoi does not support the ultimatum issued by protesters’ leaders. “I’m against ultimatum issuing. The protests must continue, but in a peaceful way. Pressure must be exerted on this government so that early elections are held. Polls show over 60% of the people want early elections. This government, if it had wanted to reach a compromise, wouldn’t have acted like this and would have voted in a technocratic Premier, like Ion Sturza, for example,” said the analyst.

Political analyst Igor Botan also does not support the ultimatum. “By peaceful protests, the people obtained the reduction of some tariffs. Something can be achieved by peaceful ways and the state buildings must not necessarily be destroyed for the purpose,” he stated.

Corneliu Ciurea, expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives “Viitorul”, considers that the protests must be stopped for a period. “It’s clear that the current government will not concede. The people must calm down and wait for the next elections,” he said.

Journalist Dmitri Chubashenko anticipated that the government will ignore the ultimatum issued by the leaders of the protesters and will make everything possible to discredit the protest movement.
