Tudor Ulianovschi, who is running for President, said that, as President, he would urgently go to Qatar to negotiate the supply of liquefied petroleum gas, which is cheaper in this state, and would coordinate its processing at a refinery in Romania. According to him, elections come and go, but the energy problem remains and must be immediately solved, IPN reports.
“I worked for two years in Qatar. I personally know Emir Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani (editor’s note: the Emir of Qatar). We are of the same age, star sign and height. I assure you that the new negotiations will be transparent, based on national interests, not on group interests, as now,” the presidential candidate said in a TV show.
According to Tudor Ulianovschi, replacing Russian gas with alternative resources and green energy must be a priority for the country’s President, especially because winter is approaching. “As soon as I become head of state, I will make an inventory of the consumption and the necessary volumes of gas. I will review, from a legal point of view, all existing contracts on natural gas in order to ensure a fair price for the citizens and to guarantee the country’s energy independence,” said the candidate.
Tudor Ulianovschi, who is an independent presidential candidate, described the election as an opportunity to make significant changes. According to him, “it is time for every politician, elected or candidate, to understand that not only the campaign matters, but also how promptly and efficiently they will solve pressing problems and respond to people’s needs, after the electoral curtain falls.”
