Ukrainian rapper Potap, who left the country and now performs under the pseudonym Slavic Balagan, expressed his desire to represent the Republic of Moldova at Eurovision. The singer assured that he can cover the costs associated with the trip to the song contest, IPN reports, referring to unian.net.

On his Instagram page, Potap published a video sequence in which he says that he would agree to perform at Eurovision on behalf of the Republic of Moldova, with his new stage name Slavic Balagan. He noted that he also has a song with Moldovan musical elements, corresponding to the contest.

"I want to tell you honestly, given that my main band is made up of guys from Moldova, if there was such a possibility, I would gladly represent Moldova at Eurovision," said the Ukrainian singer.

Potap expressed his conviction that the Moldovan public would support him at the contest.

In January, the director of the national television Moldova 1 Corneliu Durnescu announced that the Republic of Moldova will not compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The decision to suspend the country's participation in the competition was taken after "a detailed analysis of the current situation, as well as the economic, administrative and artistic challenges.”

The 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place during May 13-17. The semifinals will be held on May 13 and 15, and the winning country will be designated on May 17. Moldova 1 will broadcast live both semifinals and the final of the contest.
