Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko considers that Moldova’s inclusion in the list of countries posing migration risks by the Ukrainian Government is unjustified and discriminatory. Tymoshenko told this Moldova’s outgoing President Vladimir Voronin during a phone conversation on August 20, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the presidential press service. The Premier expressed her intention to annul these control rules for the Moldovan citizens and her willingness to submit a relevant proposal at the next meeting of the executive. Recently, Ukraine has announced that the Ukrainian border guards from August 25 will selectively check if the foreigners that cross the border have financial resources to stay in Ukraine. The new rules apply to the citizens of Moldova, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and other countries from Asia and from Africa. The travelers will have to confirm that they have12,600 Ukrainian Hrivnas or the equivalent in convertible currency that is needed to cover the costs of staying in Ukraine for 1 to 30 days, regardless of the length of the stay. The travelers must own cash or have a bank card and show the excerpt from the account for the last three days.
