While the attention of the whole world is focused on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, Moscow started a hybrid war in the South Caucasus and Russian propaganda inflates reports about the so-called blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh and the humanitarian crisis there, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Kreidenko stated for Moldova 1, IPN reports.

The deputy told about the experiments he conducted in mid-January, when he organized the ordering of food at restaurants in Nagorno-Karabakh and proved that there was no humanitarian disaster there.

“We can see the social experiment, which is now being distributed through YouTube, where activists successfully order food in Nagorno-Karabakh. They order different types of food for a large number of persons and they are not told about a shortage of products there,” related Kreidenko. According to the politician, Russia and its satellites in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh that de jure belongs to Azerbaijan replicate their beloved propaganda tricks about the humanitarian disaster in Donbas and in Crimea so as to give reasons for the subsequent destabilization of the situation in the Caucasus.

The deputy noted that a real humanitarian crisis that was caused by Russia itself can be actually witnessed on the temporally occupied territories of Ukraine.

“The Russians say that Azerbaijan blocked the Lachin corridor in Nagorno-Karabakh. But we see that this is open and live streams showing that vehicles with food products are allowed to pass come from there. The Russians simply want to further influence Azerbaijan and Armenia so as impose their agenda concerning the humanitarian disaster,” stated Kreidenko.

Several days ago, Maurizio Geri, a former analyst on the Middle East and North Africa at the NATO Allied Command, published in Politico.eu an article entitled “Russia’s new meddling in the Caucasus” in which he says that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan is possible, but a Russia-backed oligarch Ruben Vardanyan is trying to stop it.

The thesis about the fact that the Kremlin and its satellites in Armenia and other countries try to destabilize the situation in the Caucasus was earlier formulated by Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with Moldova 1.

According to Podolyak, Russia aims to divert the world’s attention from the war in Ukraine to other conflict hotbeds.
