A 70-year-old man holding dual nationality, Ukrainian and American, is suspected of having attempted to smuggle a collection of power invertors, solar chargers, power banks and clothing into Moldova.
The goods were arrested by customs officers at the Chisinau Airport during the inspection of luggage belonging to passengers that deplaned a Vienna flight.
The man had apparently tried to walk through the “nothing to declare” lane despite the worth of his baggage, it was reported.
The Ukrainian American now faces administrative punishment along with confiscation of the undeclared goods.
