Ukraine – leading exporter to Moldova

Ukraine continues to be Moldovaʼs leading trading partner, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ukrainian Embassy in Chisinau. Specialists of the Embassyʼʼs commercial-economic mission say this is not only due to the fact that the two countries are neighbors, but also owing to the quality of the Ukrainian goods and their prices, which satisfy the Moldovan consumers. According to the National Bureau of Statistics of Moldova, in the first half of this year Moldova imported Ukrainian goods to the value of US$95.3 million. The imported goods included mainly food products, drugs, wooden materials and tobacco products. Ukraine exports to Moldova large volumes of electric power and other energy resources. Moldova exports to Ukraine products from the food industry, phytosanitary products, beverages, textiles and stone materials. Experts of the commercial-economic mission of the Ukrainian Embassy forecast that the trade between Moldova and Ukraine will increase.
