UA-Basco is the new leader of the national men’s basketball championship. The team from Balti scored a dramatic victory in the fifth stage, beating Admiral-UTM 68-66, IPN reports.
The match played in Chisinau needed overtime even if UA-Basco was 11 points ahead of its opponent at a certain moment. In overtime, the team from Balti defeated Admiral-UTM 11-9 and thus climbed to the top of the rankings. UA-Basco has by one point more than Admiral and Floare.
The other matches of the fifth stage ended as follows: Sparta – USEFS 74-89, while Alfa-Basket – Floare 89-80. The next stage was scheduled for January 8, 2017.
