Two villages to hold mayoral runoffs

Mayoral runoff votes will take place in two villages were new local elections were held on November 1, simultaneously with the presidential elections. These are Chetriș commune of Fălești district and Corlăteni village of Râșcani district, IPN reports.

According to the Central Election Commission, the preliminary results in the two localities show that the runoff in Chetriș, Fălești, will be between Mamai Alesea of the Our Party Political Party, who gained 231 votes of the 596 valid votes, and Condru Constantin of the Democratic Party, who won 164 votes. The first round of voting also involved Cumpanici Viorel of the Party of Socialists (86 votes), Ivanov Rodica of the Party of Action and Solidarity (54 votes), Rotari Ivan of the Party of Communists (22 votes) and Diac Ion of the Pro Moldova Party (39 votes).

In Corlăteni, Râșcani, the runoff will be between Bold Veaceslav of the Party of Action and Solidarity, who polled 741 votes of the 2,181 valid votes, and Pruteanu Svetlana of the Our Party Political Party with 679 votes in the first round. The electoral race also featured Baciu Mihail of the Party of Socialists (638 votes), Nemescu Alexandru of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (59 votes) and Baciu Victor of the Liberal Democratic Party (64 votes).

New local elections on November 1 also took place in Dubna village of Soroca district and in Patra commune of Orhei district. In Dubna, the elections were won by Sochirca Elena of the Party of Socialists with 264 votes of the 381 valid votes. The other contenders, Țîmbaliuc Valentin of the Party of Action and Solidarity, Gadibadi Pavel of the National Unity Party and Sochirca Liubovi of the Romanian People’s Party, gained 41, 52 and 25 votes respectively.

In Piatra, Bușila Radu of the Shor Party emerged victorious with 790 votes of the 1,020 valid votes. The other two contenders, Bodiu Viorica of the Party of Socialists and Mădrăguna Victor of the Party of Action and Solidarity, polled 86 and, respectively, 144 votes.

The CEC is to set the date of the runoff votes in Chetriș and Corlăteni, which, under the electoral legislation, must be held in two weeks.
