Two people died and four others were injured Saturday early morning near the Romanian town of Crasna in a multiple-vehicle accident that involved a Moldovan bus with 40 passengers on board. None of the passengers were hurt.

The accident occurred after a Galați-plated car driven by a 38-year-old man touched the curb on a bridge, which caused it to veer into oncoming traffic, where it hit an Alba-plated car driven by a 26-year-old man. The latter car was hit from behind by the passenger bus.

As a result, the first driver and a 42-year-old man traveling in the second car died instantly. All the four other occupants of the second car were hurt, with two of them being severely injured.

The bus driver, a 36-year-old Bucharest man, was breath-tested and the result was negative. The second driver could not be tested immediately.

A suspected homicide case has been initiated to establish all the circumstances of the accident.
