Two more candidates for the post of mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau have been designated. These are Constantin Butucel of the Building Europe at Home Party (PACE) and MP Vasile Bolea, who was proposed by the Revival Party, IPN report.
Constantin Butucel was put forward by the PACE, which is led by the former deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, who is investigated in Moldova and is allegedly in the UK at present.
Constantin Butucel told a news conference that he returns home from the Netherlands after working there for 12 years in the building sector and in urban development. He aims to implement at home what he saw in Europe – unique projects and concepts for Chisinau, based on European practices and experiences.
Vasile Bolea was elected MP on the Socialist ticket, but was excluded from the Party of Socialists. He and his mate Alexandr Suhodolski later joined the Revival Party by the example of another two former members of the PSRM, Alexandr Nesterovschi and Irina Lozovan.
Earlier, the Party of Action and Solidarity designated MP Lilian Carp, PAS deputy chairman, for the mayoralty of Chisinau; the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” – ex-deputy mayor of Chisinau Victor Chironda; the Coalition for Unity and Welfare – the head of the party’s Youth Organization Ion Bulgac, the Liberal Party – deputy chairman Ion Purice, the European Social Democratic Party – the former head of Buiucani district Vadim Brînzaniuc, the Party of Socialists – MP Adrian Albu, the People Power Party – its chairman and former acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu, while the Civic Congress – ex-Communist MP Mihail Poleanschi.
The Party of Communists in the local mayoral elections in Chisinau will be represented by MP Diana Caraman. Former director of the Agency for Monument Inspection and Restoration Ion Ștefăniță announced that he will run for mayor of Chisinau, being supported by the Movement “Respect Moldova”, which was created by the former Democratic MP Eugeniu Nikiforchuck.
