The Medicines Commission of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency approved two more clinical trials for treating patients with COVID-19. These will cover 300 patients with COVID-19 of the National Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” who will be treated free of charge and voluntarily, IPN reports.

According to the Agency, the two trials are launched on the initiative of the U.S. company “Regeneron Pharmaceuticals” Inc. in cooperation with the German clinical research company ARENSIA Exploratory Medicine. The given medical research studies are aimed at obtaining efficient treatment for patients infected with COVID-19 and at preventing the infection of persons with whom infected patients had been directly in contact.

Since June, the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency has authorized six clinical trials for COVID-19, which are conducted under the supervision of the National Committee for Ethics in Clinical Trial Expertise of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection and with the assistance of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemiţanu”.
