The Daniela Cociu – Maria Olărașu pair won gold in the 200 m race at the U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships held in Belgrade, IPN reports.
According to the National Olympic and Sports Committee of the Republic of Moldova, in the 500 m race the Moldovan canoeists won silver, being outstripped by their challengers from Poland. In the individual race, Maria Olărașu won silver in the 500 m race, while Daniela Cociu won bronze in the 200 m race.
Mihai Chihaia and Mihail Culceac competed in the 2022 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships in Belgrade. Chihaia ranked fourth in 1,000 m U23, while Culceac finished fourth in 1,000m among juniors.
In the medal standings, Moldova ranked ninth.
