The Georgian authorities launched an operation to rescue two Moldovans alpinists who are on an expedition on Ushba Mount in Georgia. The operation was started on September 3 and goes on.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the access to the last known location of the Moldovan citizens is hampered by the unfavorable elements that prevented a helicopter operation, with a land mission being detached, IPN reports.
Officials of Moldova’s Embassy in Baku and of the Honorific Consular Office of Moldova in Batumi are permanently in touch with the local authorities and family members of the Moldovan citizens, being ready to provide specialized consular assistance.
