Two persons aged 28 and 44 died in traffic accidents in Balti municipality and at the entrance to Cupcini town of Edinet district in the morning of January 19. Another two persons suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital, IPN reports.
According to press officer of the Balti Police Inspectorate Eugenia Molchanov, the information about the accident that occurred in Balti municipality was provided at about 3am. When at the scene, the police established that the car that was driven by a man aged 32 collided head-on with a snowplow parked by the roadside as a result of an overtaking maneuver. The driver was rushed to the Balti Municipal Hospital. The accident was fatal for the 28-year-old passenger from the car.
The other accident happened at about 7am. The police officers who travelled to the scene found a car overtaken in a ditch. There was a dead man aged 44 at a distance of about 30 meters from the car. It was later established that a 29-year-old woman who was seriously hurt in that accident was taken to the Edineț District Hospital.
Those to blame in the two accidents haven’t been yet identified.
