Two men aged 29 and 34 are accused of murdering the friend of one of them for not paying the debt owed to him. One of the culprits borrowed 25,000 lei from the victim and then, together with his accomplice, forced the man to write a note that the debt was paid and then killed him in the wood, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, in August the two men convinced the victim to go together with them by his car to agree the conditions of a deal. When they entered a wood near Calarasi town, the culprits tied the man, beat him, dispossessed him of 3,000 lei and forced him to sign a receipt, which said that the debt was paid. Afterward, the culprits hit the victim with an ax in the head, killing him. Then they buried the body in the wood and went away by the victim’s car.

The prosecutors completed the investigation and sent the case to court. The culprits face up to 20 years in jail or life imprisonment for deliberate murder and robbery.
