In the next six months, two international journalism experts, Steven R. Knowlton and Karen L. Freeman (USA), will offer consultations for the journalists from the Republic of Moldova. The experts will organize courses within the Advanced Journalism School, which will be inaugurated by the Independent Journalism Center (IJC), in partnership with the Missouri School of Journalism University (USA) Paris Center of Professional Formation (France) on September 4, 2006. As well, they will present lectures to the students of the Journalism Faculty of the State University of Moldova. Steven R. Knowlton and Karen L. Freeman are professional journalists with a big teaching experience. Knowlton is a reporter and a photo-reporter and Freeman is writing columns and opinion articles for “The New York Times”. The journalists from USA are the authors of several specialized books. The experts will offer consultations for the journalists from Moldova due to the International Journalism Center, which administrates the program Knight International Press Fellowships. The program is aiming at contributing to the development of a strong and independent mass-media, especially in the countries which do not have experience in this field.
