Three motor vehicles became involved in a road accident close to Ocolina village of Soroca district on Wednesday morning. As a result of the collision, two persons were hospitalized, Svetlana Talpă, press officer of the Soroca Police Inspectorate, has told IPN.

A concrete mixer truck stopped by the roadside for technical works. As the visibility was low owing to fog, a man driving a minibus slowed the vehicle down and was struck from behind by another truck driven by a citizen of Ukraine. The minibus was projected into the concrete mixer truck’s back and overturned.

According to the press officer, the minibus driver and a man who was standing by the concrete mixer truck were rushed to the Soroca District Hospital for medical care. An investigation is underway.

Given the fog that appears more often in the period, the police warn drivers to adjust to the weather conditions and use the anti-fog lights, increase the distance between vehicles in traffic and reduce the speed. The emergency warning triangles should be placed at a longer distance from the vehicle than in normal conditions. Pedestrians are urged to cross the street only in permitted places.
