Two public servants, one appointed by Chisinau's mayor and another by the Municipal Council (CMC), fight for the same seat. The dispute tied to the position of Health Direction chief is gaining momentum. The subject has been hotly debated on, Friday, as the mayor convened the managers of municipal hospitals. Although not invited, CMC chairman Eduard Musuc and councilors came to express their views, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Liberal councilors and mayor Dorin Chirtoaca think Mihai Moldovanu should stay in this position, while Eduard Musuc and the Social-Democratic and Communist councilors recognize only Ion Arteni, as voted by them. Tye councilors traded offensive words and blamed one another for ignoring the law on appointing the direction heads.
“You and Voronin (Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin -e.n.), created this situation, so that the people do not pay attention to the standard living in the country,” Liberal Tatiana Gutium told CMC chairman Eduard Musuc. She said the situations are similar in the districts of Hancesti, Soroca and Orhei.
Eduard Musuc has said the situation is “an absurd theater” and accused the Liberals of placing party members in public positions, sacking the specialists declining to join the Liberal Party. Musuc mentioned the case of Eugenia Ceban, fired from the position of the Social Assistance Direction.
Deputy mayor Igor Lupulciuc, whose powers were lifted by the mayor on December 4 , called the move “a political retaliation” and has Dorin Chirtoaca did that only for introducing Ion Arteni to the staff of the Health Direction.
The hospital managers were puzzled, as some said they did not know whom to subordinate to.
On December 2, the lock of the door was changed at the quarter of the Health Direction. Then a police post was installed there, and Ion Arteni occupied the office of Mihai Moldovanu. The same day Moldovanu was taken by the ambulance because of high pressure.
