The head of the Comrat document issuing section and an inferior of his were arrested by officers of the National Anticorruption Center on suspicion of abuse of power, IPN reports.
According to the Center, the functionaries are suspected of illegally granting Moldovan nationality to citizens of Ukraine and Russia, by issuing them with Moldovan identity cards, in 2012-2013.
The suspects were put under arrest for 72 hours.
