A young man and a young woman studying chemistry at the Technical University of Moldova are accused of preparing and distributing illegal drugs. The two improvised a lab at a villa in Tohatin village of Chisinau municipality, where they made the drugs, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the students transported large amounts of raw material and precursors to the lab for making amphetamine. During a search at the villa that belonged to one of the students, the police found chemical substances that do not circulate freely and chemical equipment.
There were seized such precursors as acetic acid, sulfuric acid and acetone. The police also found glass containers, scales and polyethylene packs for packing the drugs and two packets with a large amount of amphetamine.
The man was remanded in custody for a period of 30 days, while his mate was placed under house arrest for a similar period.
