Tamara Tentiuc and Vasile Coroi are the candidates proposed to Parliament for the position of ombudsperson for children’s rights.
Of five competitors seeking the job, Tentiuc and Coroi received the highest scores in their interview tests held by a special committee.
The children’s ombudsperson is appointed by a majority of the elected MPs for a single term of seven years.
The term of the outgoing children’s ombudswoman Maia Bănărescu expired in April 2023.
