Two employees of the state-run company “Cadastru” (“Cadaster”) - a cadastral engineer and a registrar - are suspected of illegally selling a building by falsifying public documents in collusion with three businessmen, IPN reports.
According to sources in the Prosecutor General’s Office, prosecutors carried out searches at “Cadastru” on November 25. Afterward, the two employees of the company were escorted to the Prosecutor’s Office. The two are suspected of swindle and falsification of public documents.
The director of a Chisinau-based company suspected of involvement in this scam was also placed under arrest for 72 hours.
The building is located in Botanica district of Chisinau. This was sold at the end of this August. The extent of the damage hasn’t been yet gauged.
The case is handled by the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases.
