Independent candidate for the office of President Tudor Ulyanovski suggests granting benefit to all children in the Republic of Moldova up to the age of 18, by the model of Romania. Ulyanovski undertakes to formulate such a proposal as a first legislative initiative if he is elected head of state, IPN reports.
The monthly amount should be up to 1,000 lei, the equivalent of €50. “I am a father of three children and I am aware of the maintenance costs and the problems faced by parents when raising children,” said Tudor Ulyanovski.
The candidate, who visited a number of kindergartens in the capital city in recent days, noted that these are facing an acute shortage and a massive exodus of staff due to very low salaries. Educators, caregivers and cooks migrate either to the private sector, where salaries are higher, or go to work abroad. Tudor Ulyanovski considers education employees should be supported not only through higher salaries, but also through tax exemptions so that they can cope with bills and everyday challenges.
Addressing another topic on the agenda of the electoral debate, namely the sale of agricultural land to foreign citizens, Tudor Ulyanovski said that this should not happen. “The Republic of Moldova must not accept all the conditions imposed on us by the partners from Brussels. We need a competent government, which rejects requests that go against the national interests. I am against the sale of land to foreigners,” stated Tudor Ulyanovski.
Tudor Ulyanovski is a career diplomat. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration from January 2018 until the resignation of the Filip Government in the summer of 2019. In the ballot for the presidential election of October 20, he is listed the tenth.
