The public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) concentrated its efforts on strengthening the production capacities. The national TV channel Moldova 1 improved its credibility and audience rankings after a series of measures that covered primarily the News and Debates Department. At Radio Moldova, the broadcast schedule was reset in May, after the playlist was changed and the news unit was reformed. New analysis programs appeared in the course of the year, TRM director general Vlad Țurcanu stated in a news conference held to present the progress report for 2022, IPN reports.
A new news studio was created at Moldova 1. There were hired almost 30 persons for such posts as producers, presenters and others. The working spaces were renovated. The salaries were raised. The Russian language editorial office was developed by fully changing the method of presenting news items in Russian. The sports unit was consolidated.
An information system for managing content was created in 2022 and is to be implemented at the company. A new head office for Teleradio-Moldova is to be built according to a project implemented by Teleradio-Georgia.
TRM also dealt with the technical, signal transmission aspect. The administration of Teleradio-Moldova is close to finishing the strategy for developing the company together with the Council of Europe or the European Broadcasting Union.
“In the future, we need to outsource particular programs, including large-scales ones. Teleradio-Moldova will allocate funds for particular types of programs, will hold contests and will purchase different productions that would be broadcast on Moldova 1, Radio Moldova and on other platforms we have,” said the TRM director general
Teleradio-Moldova also aims to launch the Newsroom Department to cover all the news articles of Radio Moldova, Moldova 1, Multimedia. The concept will be finalized this year. Negotiations are being held with local and foreign partners, stated Vlad Țurcanu.
