The digital transformation of the Customs Service and the fight against corruption are absolute priorities to ensure a modern and transparent system that will contribute to the sustainable economic development of the Republic of Moldova. The statement was made by the country's President Maia Sandu at the meeting of the Customs Service's international partners, an event that brought together more than a hundred representatives from the country and abroad, IPN reports.
According to the head of state, a transparent and digitalized customs system plays a key role in strengthening the country's economy. The Customs Service is one of the pillars of the national economy, contributing more than 60% of the state budget revenues.
It is therefore crucial for this institution to be open, transparent and to fight firmly against corruption, providing reliable services to both citizens and the business environment.
