Sixty builders from Transnistria will travel to the South Ossetian capital of Tshinvali on August 23, Info-Prim’s correspondent in the region reports. The announcement was made by the Minister of National Defense of Transnistria, Vladimir Antiufeev, who was named Transnistria’s representative in South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The same source said that Tiraspol town is ready to welcome 300 persons, including 100 children, from South Ossetia for rehabilitation and rest. The Education Ministry is ready to offer 50 places in Transnistrian education institutions free of charge. The humanitarian aid donated by residents of Transnistria and organizations of different forms of ownership was sent to South Ossetia. The aid is now waiting to be transported over Ossetia’s border. According to Elena Bomesco, the Transnistrian leader’s assistant for education, science and culture, it was decided to set up special builders teams and send them to South Ossetia. These groups will work as relieve and rescue detachments and all the members will be insured according to the state insurance for military employees. The Ossetian authorities asked Transnistria to send first of all cement and metal. As the press service of leader Igor Smirnov informed, negotiations are now carried out with the Transnistrian industrial enterprises that could provide such assistance.
