As of Thursday, December 5, the main entrance to Balti, from the north to the city, through the BAM neighborhood, will be under repair, the head of the Project Implementation Department of the State Road Administration (ASD), Andrei Iermurache, told IPN.
The pavement of national road R6 and the overpass crossing the railroad at km 132 will be renovated. Traffic will be restricted on this segment and traffic will be rerouted.
The works will be carried out in two stages and will be completed next summer. "The Balti ring road will be completely closed. We plan to finish the execution of works for this segment in June 2025. After that, we will proceed to the rehabilitation of the bridge at km 136, which crosses the railroad, with an estimated completion date for the end of next year", Andrei Iermurache explained.
According to the ASD, road traffic will be organized according to a temporary scheme, with appropriate signage and information boards for drivers. Waze app users will be redirected to alternative routes.
The bridge and overpass, built in the 1970s, have suffered significant damage and the repair work is necessary for the safety of traffic participants, ASD officials say.
