The Chisinau City Hall inaugurated on Friday the Traffic Monitoring Center "MOVE IT like Lublin - Initiative for sustainable development of public transport in Chisinau municipality". The initiative is aimed at a safer, more efficient and comfortable public transportation system for the capital's residents, IPN reports.
According to the organizers, the center will use modern technology to monitor traffic in real time, optimize transport flow and help improve the quality of life in Chisinau.
"The creation of this center is important to address the major challenges of Chisinau's urban traffic, which suffers from severe traffic jams and private transport dominates at the expense of public and alternative transport. Through this initiative, we aim to make changes based on accurate data, thus encouraging people to use public transport," said Vladimir Butirschi, manager of the Traffic Monitoring Center.
The "MOVE IT like Lublin" project is funded by the European Union with more than €3 million and implemented by the Chisinau City Hall, with the support of partners from Lublin, Poland.
