The Chisinau Territorial Branch Trade Union for Education and Science firmly condemns all forms of violence, regardless of the direction in which they are exercised—whether from teachers, parents, school administration, or colleagues—and calls on the authorities to take concrete measures to protect and support education employees, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Trade Union states that an increasing number of teachers and auxiliary staff across the municipal education system are facing harassment, bullying, and pressure. According to them, low wages—which are below the national average—are not the main reason why employees leave the system, but rather the denigrating attitude they endure.

"In recent weeks, numerous teachers have approached the trade union for help, finding themselves unable to make decisions or respond to pressure. Given the shortage of staff, the heavy workload—often nearly double the standard norms—and the daily responsibilities towards students, these dedicated individuals lack the time and energy to seek legal recourse," the statement reads.

In an appeal to society, the trade union urges all stakeholders in the education system to create a safe educational environment, free from violence, bullying, or pressure.
