Tiraspol takes lead in National Football Division

FC Tiraspol is the new leader in the National Football Division. On August 18, the Transnistrian team scored a consecutive 5-0 victory against Speranta Crihana Veche in a fourth-stage match, IPN reports. The first two goals in the new season were scored by scorer Alexandru Grossu, who recently made his debut for the national squad of Moldova.

Zimbru Chisinau and Milsami Orhei scored a 0-0 draw. Dacia Chisinau beat Rapid Ghidighici 4-2 away. After the match, Rapid manager Victor Ostap attacked referee Iurie Covtun as he was dissatisfied with some of his decisions.

The other matches of the stage ended as follows: Veris Chisinau - Academia Chisinau 6-0, Olimpia Balti - Sheriff Tiraspol 0-5, FC Costuleni - Dinamo-Auto Tiraspol 3-0.
