Three resolutions were adopted at the tenth ordinary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly held in Chisinau. These refer to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the European course of the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia and the opening of accession negotiations with Moldova and Ukraine following the granting of the EU candidate status to the two, IPN reports.

“The European integration is very important, especially for the Republic of Moldova, in the context of different hybrid threats coming from the Russian Federation. The start of negotiations will be a powerful signal both for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and for the whole Europe,” said the co-chair of the Euronest PA Andrius Kubilius.

“We discussed the future Eastern Partnership in connection with the latest developments, including the granting of the candidate status and the war in Ukraine. The main aspects discussed referred to the problems and risks that affect safety all over Europe,” noted the co-chair of the Euronest PA Ina Coșeru.

The Republic of Moldova hosted the tenth ordinary session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly during February 19-21.

The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly was established on 3 May 2011 in Brussels, when the Presidents (or their representatives) of the Armenian, Azerbaijani, Georgian, Moldovan, Ukrainian and European Parliaments signed the Assembly’s Constitutive Act. The mission of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly is to promote the conditions necessary to accelerate political association and further economic integration between the EU and the Eastern European Partners, as well as to strengthen cooperation within the region and between the region and the EU. The multilateral Assembly contributes to strengthening, developing and increasing the visibility of the Eastern Partnership.
