The General Public Amenities Division plans to build three new-type public toilets - two in “Valea Morilor” Park and one in the Public Garden “Sarmisegetuza”- by October.
Contacted by IPN for details, the head of the Division’s Cleanup and Territorial Development Section Vasile Efros said the contract with the company that won the tender contest is to be signed this week. The contractor will later launch the building works.
About 3 million lei was earmarked for the project, but the contract that will be signed with the contractor is to the value of approximately 1.8 million lei.
As to the plans to build public toilets in the Public Garden “Stefan the Great and Holy” and in the Park of the “God’s Birth” Cathedral, Vasile Efros said the General Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations Division is organizing a contest of ideas. This is a new project and a new concept and the toilets will be planned as part of this project.
Eight public toilets were set up in 2019 in a number of parks in Chisinau. Two more toilets were built by the Capital Constructions Division. There are ten new-type toilets in the capital city. The tax for using them is 2 lei.
