The leaders of the former Alliance for European Integration are to come together for a meeting on March 6, at the request of President Nicolae Timofti. The announcement was made by the leader of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu in the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel, Info-Prim Neo reports. “After the discussions I had with Mister Nicolae Timofti, the head of state made an invitation for the three leaders to convene for a meeting at the Presidential Office in the first half of the day. I accepted this invitation,” said the Democratic leader. Marian Lupu also said that the PDM does not intend at least to discuss the re-formation of the current Government. According to him, the PDM is ready to examine any candidate for the post of Prime Minister, except Vlad Filat. “Everything depends on the ideas with which ever party goes to these negotiations. I will go with a flexible position, without pretensions, and will accept model values of this Government. This flexibility is aimed at ensuring the continuity of the government at another quality level and of the European course,” he stated. “I’m sure that if all the three components come with similar positions, political maturity and responsibility, we will be able to close the talks within 10 days and to invest a new Government.” Marian Lupu invited his former alliance colleagues to negotiations in the evening of March 5. The Liberal Party accepted the invitation, while the Liberal Democratic Party turned it down. Thus, the meeting didn’t take place.
