A 21 year-old man died intoxicated with fumes in a fire which broke out on Wednesday morning in a flat in Ocnita town.
According to the Emergencies Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the cause of the fire was the careless use of home appliances.
A similar case occurred on October 23 in Chisinau in an apartment building on Decebal Street, where a man, 58, chocked to death because of an incorrectly installed heating system. His wife, 44, and child, 14, were urgently hospitalised for detox.
A cigarette-ignited fire caused the death of a 59 year-old Russian citizen who chocked to death with fumes in the flat of his friends in Ialoveni town.
According to official accounts, 2,177 fires occurred in Moldova since the start of this year, claiming 137 deaths.
