Border guards carried out searches in several locations in Straseni district and Chisinau municipality as part of an investigation into the falsification of official documents. As a result of the searches, three people were arrested and more evidence was seized for being examines, IPN reports.
The law enforcement officers found mobile phones, data storage devices, draft documents, photos with facial prints and identity documents issued in the names of other people. These will be examined to see how they were used.
The suspects, a man and two women aged between 42 and 59, were placed in preventive detention for 72 hours and are investigated for falsifying official documents.
The Border Police continue the investigations in order to establish the extent of the criminal activity. Additional details will be provided when new information emerges.
