Some voters have reported to the Voter Information Hotline during the presidential election and referendum on october 20 that when checking on the platform verifica.cec.md they found that they had pre-registered to vote in russian localities, without having done it themselves. These cases were documented, and voters were advised to call the police, the CEC said in a press release, IPN reports.

In total, more than 7,800 calls were received by the Voter Information Hotline operators. Most of the calls were made by citizens, and the majority of them inquired about the voting procedure: which documents are needed to vote, the possibility of voting at the polling station, where to get a certificate for voting, how students vote, how homeless people vote, how overseas voters vote, etc.

The helpline was active from september 2 to november 4, 2024 and came to provide informational support to the parties involved in the electoral process. Voters, registrars, operators, election officials, representatives of electoral contestants and observers are among the categories of beneficiaries of the information support.

In addition to the assistance provided through calls to 022880101, during the elections, the Call Center provided assistance through the viber/whatsapp application, the contact number 069780101, as well as the email centruapel@cec.md.
