The volume of industrial production of RM decreased by 5.3% because of Russia

Industrial enterprises of Moldova produced, in January-April 2006, goods worth 6 billion 418 million lei. The quota of the volume of industrial production compared to January-April 2005 was of 94.1%, and in April this quota represented 76.9% compared to the same period of 2005. According to the National Bureau of Statistic, the decrease of industrial production, in the first four months, was caused, especially, by reduction of the wine producing volume – by 28%. Wines have 14% in the chart of industrial production, leading to decrease of the industrial production by 5%. Dropping by 7% of clothes production, tobacco goods – by 24%, spirits – by 10% also influenced negatively. Machine and equipment production reduced by 21%, oil and fats – by 8%, beer – by 10%, chocolate, cacao and sweets goods – by 12%, and polygraph goods – by 14%. At the same time, there were registered at certain activities increases of the production volume, but these did not lessen the decrease of the industrial production. So, the production of volume of enterprises producing cement, , stone cutting, shaping and finishing, as well as tanning and leather processing increased - by 64%. Increases were registered in producing medical equipment and instruments, precision and optic tools - by 54%, , carpets - by 19%, steam and hot water supply - by17%, shoes production - by 11%, electric power production and supply - by 9%, wood processing and wooden goods - by 7% etc. In the first four months of 2006, food and drinks industry in general decreased the production by 14%. At the same time, there was registered an increase of the production at the enterprises producing beverages - by 36%, silage for animals – by 17%, meat production, processing and canning – by 9%, fruit and vegetable processing and canning - by 4% and diary goods production – by 3%.
