The textiles and construction industries are the first to feel the world financial crisis. The production volumes and employees’ salaries have slightly decreased. “Other sectors could be also affected to a certain extent, especially those that export goods. We reflect upon methods for alleviating the negative effects,” First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Dodon told the press, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The official said that next year they plant to launch a number of projects aimed at rehabilitating infrastructure. “These projects will enable to guarantee workplaces to the people working in construction, including to the Moldovans that work abroad and could return home if they remain without jobs,” Igor Dodon said.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that special attention will be paid to the facilitation of the national producers’ access to loans. “We discuss practically daily the possibility of decreasing the rates of interest with representatives of the banking sector, even if the rates were slightly reduced in November following the steps taken by the central bank,” Dodon said.
Dodon also said that the authorities urge the economic entities to be attentive when making payments for the supplied goods. “It is very risky to make payments in advance. We aim to identify other solutions that would be beneficial to the exporters and economic entities that supply goods on the home market,” the First Deputy Prime Minister said.
According to Dodon, the world financial crisis did not affect Moldova’s banking sector.
