“The political colour of the capital’s future mayor will directly mean a possible political configuration of the future 2009 Parliament”, the leader of the Christian Democrat People’s Party (PPCD), Iurie Rosca, stated after expressing his vote on Sunday, June 17.
Rosca voted on Sunday within the runoff for Chisinau Mayor General “for a change, a new, honest, transparent and incorrupt public administration, able to handle all the needs and requirements of the citizens and economic agents in Moldova.”
He mentioned that the citizen, who is looking for a change in the Chisinau administration, needs at the moment dynamism, wisdom and an open mind towards the society.
The PPCD leader has been convinced after the results of the first round that the balance of power has changed a lot at local level, pointing out that a lot of changes could be expected in the country depending on the election outcomes.
Asked by Info-Prim Neo about the significance of these elections, Rosca outlined that it is a geopolitical one, as the stake isn’t strictly local, economic and administrative one. “In Moldova, whenever there are elections, people refer to the external factor, to 2 development vectors: the European one and the pro-CIS or pro-Russian one”, the PPCD leader stated, mentioning that this is valid as well for the present poll.
