The new project of the Audio-Visual Code, adopted on the 6th of April in first reading by the Parliament is a rudimentary document overcome by far by the regulations of the European Audio-Visual. This document does not even stand the proof of the previous recommendations of international experts, nor is the reality existent in domestic audiovisual is stated in a communiqué of the Agency Media Impact, offered to Info-Prim.
Both mass media means and media organizations have to draw the attention to the alarming way in which the efforts of the entire society of creating free and accessible conditions to the development of the domestic audiovisual could be undermined, consider the authors of the communiqué
In the context of the monitoring process, IMPACT Media Agency will produce a cycle of coverage, interviews and televised opinions that will be placed on the portal www.impact.md and will be distributed to over 20 TV channels partners, from the Republic of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.
The disputes of the deputies from the Parliament’s session during which the draft in the audiovisual field and the new Code of the Audiovisual was brought into discussion, can be viewed on the portal www.impact.md. The unedited variant, in broadcast format, can be requested from the program coordinators of IMPACT Media Agency.
Previously, the representatives of NGO’s activating in mass-media area solicited the Parliament to postpone for a month the examination of the project of the Audio-Visual Code and during this time the Parliament should organize meetings with the civil society and to accept the proposals upon the law. According to them, „the project’s elaboration process was done totally not transparent, and the content of the project was displayed on the Parliament’s site in short term before its examination in the Parliamentary session, constituting a surprise”.
