In the Chisinau municipality, 291 elevators in residential blocks have been repaired, announces the General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning. Small capacity elevators have been rehabilitated, as well as large elevators, which allow the transportation of equipment, IPN reports.
The standard service life of an elevator is 25 years, and many of the capital's elevators have exceeded it. The elevators selected for repairs were those that had no lights in the cab or not all the buttons working, broken linoleum, and those for which there were the most complaints from residents.
In the selected elevators, the elevator car cup, control and call machine were replaced. Likewise, the replacement of the grooves on the elevator shaft door was also intervened, the DGLCA said.
The works were carried out by IM "Lift Service" and the total amount allocated for this purpose is about 8 million lei.
